GENERATION : SOLAR PV

Overview

Vecteng has two core client engagement models – as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) where energy is sold at a rate (usually per kWh) to the client and an Energy Services Provider (ESP), where the client owns the asset and Momentous provides energy services.

We focus on using solar photovoltaic technology for energy generation used in Commerical, Industrial and Utility spaces.

We develop, finance, construct, own and operate a portfolio of renewable energy plants (IPP model). The renewable energy plants generate, store and distribute energy. The client purchases energy from Momentous IPP.

Vecteng provides development, engineering, construction, financing and operating services, for clients to own renewable energy plants (ESP model). As an ESP, we would enter into a Development, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Agreement, or Operations and Maintenance Agreement for these services.

In 2012, Vecteng Group set up the first renewable energy IPP as part of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) in South Africa. In 2013, we set up the first large-scale commercial and industrial renewable energy project.

Power Generation delivery models

  • Behind-the-Meter

Energy generated is supplied directly to the client’s facility, on the client’s side of the electricity meter. This is defined as behind the meter. This can be done when the power plant is near to or co-located on the client’s facility.

  • Wheeling

Energy generated is distributed using the existing national transmission infrastructure and does not require the plant to connect directly to a client. This is called Wheeling.

  • Into the Grid

Energy generated is distributed directly into the national transmission and distribution network.
